The Adventures of the J Team was written by Top Cat Theatre Company’s artistic director, Neil Pugmire. It was
originally created for a two-week beach mission in 1991, but has since been performed in numerous primary school assemblies with proven success. Aimed at seven to 11-year-olds, the drama
presents the message of Luke’s gospel in 10 episodes, with an allegorical futuristic sci-fi theme that appeals to adults as well as children. Join schoolchildren James, Jane and Dudley in the year 2045
as they hurtle through the galaxy, helping the mysterious Big J tackle the evil Dr Lou Cypher, who now controls the planet Earth with his brain-washing machine.
The material has now been published by Bible Reading Fellowship as a drama and activities resource for use in school
assemblies, the classroom, holiday clubs and church services. It is available in all good Christian bookshops, or can be bought directly from the BRF website here. If you have already bought
the book and would like to download some publicity material for your holiday club or school assembly, click here. If you would like more information on how Top Cat Theatre Company and
others performed the drama episodes, as well as photos of those performances, click here.

reflect on their Christianity.” Carol Green, headteacher, Hart Plain Junior School, Waterlooville.
